Laiba, Malak and Nyah hosted and conducted the assembly on the topic of What is International Women and Girls in Science Day for Year 13 and Sofia, Priya and Raidah conducted the assembly on the international day of women and girls in science. The theme for this year is “Women Scientists at the forefront of the fight against COVID-19”. The outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic has clearly demonstrated the critical role of women researchers in different stages of the fight against COVID-19, from advancing the knowledge on the virus, to developing techniques for testing, and finally to creating the vaccine against the virus. The assembly was very interactive and the students did a quiz as well and the presenters used effective questioning toe engage the students. Priya’s mother spoke about the important contributions by women in Science.
