The assembly comprised of a panel of speakers- Deena, Sophia, Tanisha and Catherine. Rabab and Katie introduced the speakers and spoke about the importance of celebrating an International mother language day. Deena discussed the extent of different languages present in the world, out of which many of them are on the brink of extinction. Sophia spoke about how one’s mother tongue is the essence of culture. Catherine walked the students through the fact that one’s mother tongue gives an essence of who we actually are. And finally Tanisha encouraged students to learn to speak their mother tongue confidently, without relying on Google Translate.
